Default anybody good with computers????

i want to expand my memory in my laptop and i dont know which one of these is the best.

here is my computer!

the fan runs SOO loud too. my moms new laptop which already has 4 gigs of RAM and an AMD processor runs so quiet, you can't even tell its on. what up with that?

anything else you guys could help me with on upgrading like different sites, what you would change on MY computer or anything at all??

OCZ>GSkill>Corsair In that order. I have OCZ DDR2(DIMM 1066) in my rig and it runs good.


One of the reasons you're running could be that its dirty inside, and that your processor is not very efficient and is creating alot of heat.

Honestly, buying new RAM will only make it run slightly better, looking at the specs it looks like you have an old build. It would be better to buy a new one(if you got the coin)

OCZ makes a nice product, just make sure it's compatible with your laptop, going from 2 Gigs to 4 will make a difference, but don't expect something drastic.

As for the CPU, I'm using a 4 year old dell and it's quiet unless the CPU fan is on. Sometimes it can just be a heating issue, I've found on a table the fan can me noticeably louder then if it's on my lap. Not uncommon for laptops to run at 50*C either so.

mine goes into auto shutdown at 75 it turns out, scared the **** outta me first time It did it lol.

Remember video cards can and will run at higher temps without issue than a CPU will.

Correct, that and the fact Nvidia cards run SUPER hot.
