Default Aurora, Il

Does anyone know anything about Aurora, Illinois? I might move there to go to Aurora University to play soccer and major in athletic training. i mostly wanna know,
what's the summer weather like?
anything fun to do there?
Friendly people?
anything along those lines.

It's definately gonna be a big change from being used to living in texas like weather, don't know what to expect

this past summer wasnt to hot but normally the weather sucks, its hot and sticky throughout the summer. I dont like hot weather at all, I would rather have 30 degrees and two feet of snow.

Can tell you it has a moderate to high crime rate. Alot of gang issues in aurora. No offense to anybody who lives their. My sister-in-law just moved out of aurora with her 16 year old daughter due to these issues.

That is true however depending on the location boundries if there are any for the university, there are some nice towns that surround the area. The weather can get hot and sticky in the summer, this past summer was pretty mild, a couple years back there were a ton of scorthing hot days and numerous days with more than 1" of recordable rainfall.

Don't listen to the ignorant people that don't know anything about Aurora.

Downtown Aurora: Not too bad... but not the best. Casino, bars, etc. If you don't speak a 2nd language, learn Spanish. That area is an "older" area. Old homes, old buildings, etc. So naturally, you will have people that are less desirable to be around. I wouldn't suggest living there.

North Aurora (actual name of city, not just the northern part of Aurora): Pretty much the same as the downtown Aurora area.

Naperville area Aurora. Perfect. Fox Valley Mall (Aurora), plenty of nice places to eat, shop, etc. Literally minutes away from downtown Naperville. Many $600,000 to $1,000,000 in the Aurora area near where I live (I don't live in one of those homes). White Eagle is a subdivision in Aurora that has these types of homes for example. I technically live in Naperville Township and have an Aurora mailing address. Naperville and Aurora have a lot of odd boundaries. For example... half of White Eagle is Naperville and half of White Eagle is Aurora.

One of the best things about where I live... I can take my snowmobile right out of my garage and be gone for hours. As a matter of fact, I put 35 miles on my snowmobile this evening.

this is probably the most accurate description. its not that bad, although i prefer to go more towards the naperville area

i dont care what city you live in there is a **** hole in every city and gang population as well. the area on rt59 bordering naperville/aurora is really nice. the weather here sucks. the winters are messed up and sometimes the summers are screwy too. if your from anywhere from the south ur not going to like it here lol. but i must say chicago street racing scene is probably one of the best in the country and many fbody guys around the area.

The women in downtown Naperville are worth the risk of living in the ghetto of Aurora. Plenty of sub-18 year olds with a lot of Daddy's money. I say go for it.

I think our summer weather is great here (this past one was one of worst ones). I enjoy 9 months here and than winter comes and it sucks. Although there are somedays when ya wake up to snow covered trees and its beautiful...than you walk outside to the cold and realize you want summer. Anyways on Aurora, you have accurate discriptions, there are some shady areas and some decent areas. Its close to Naperville which is ranked within the top 10 of citys to live in (having money helps). You can be in Chicago in an hour and find anything your heart desires if your not going to find it locally. Good going on that scholarship money!
