If it's a decent wheel I doubt it will be an issue.

The rims aren't heated to a high enough temp to really cause any type of damage (in order to cure the powder). I imagine race wheels get much hotter due to the proximity of the brakes under heavy braking.

And +1000 on the PowderPro. Sean has his **** down.

A wheel weakening from being powder coated is kind of an old wives tale. Guys on forums like to talk about it like they have a clue but none ever do lol. Folks forget that there alot of different types of aluminum alloys and each type has its own heat limitations. The alloys used in wheel production, even the cheap-o China made ones, aren't going be affected by the temps we use in powder coating.

Honestly even if you did take the alloy say 50 degrees outside its range, it'll weaken it like a whopping .5%. If you get yourself into a situation with your car where .5% of strength in the wheels matters, you've probably got alot bigger problems on your hands..like wondering if the police are gonna be able to find your body at the bottom of the canyon your just fipped your car into

Thanks for the props guys

I took some stuff to Dave at Complete Powder Coating in Crest Hill and he did some nice work. He did my ls6 intake too and it looks pretty sick.
