Default illinois emission laws

i cannot find them anywhere on that google thing
i know if you have an OBD2 they just check it for codes
what about vehicles that dont have an obd2?
how old they need to be before no testing is required?
i got an 88 with a standalone, will that need any emission testing or am i good? cuz it sure as hell wont pass if i need it

What county are you in in IL? In my county, there's no testing lol. In the places that there is, I believe that non OBD2 vehicles from 1996 and older are exempt. I'm sure someone else will chime in and confirm that. You might want to have the moderators move this to the Midwest section, you will get a lot more hits.

Yep, any pre-OBD2 vehicles are exempt from emissions testing in the emissions counties.

As an IL resident, I can confirm this. No testing on '95 and eariler vehicles in IL. There are only 9-10 counties in the whole state that even test, and of those it is '96+ only, and OBD scan only.
