Nice to see a few names in here that go back to the earliest days of the site. I'm still occasionally in touch with a couple of the other original guys from the north/northwest Chicagoland area, but have lost contact with most.

There are still several cruise night gatherings in the north, west, and northwestern suburbs during the spring/summer/fall. None of these are F-body/4th gen specific, but a few members from this site still occasionally attend including some of us originals and current/former site staff. A couple of us still have the same cars from ~15-20 years ago.
We've had a running thread about these events for the last couple of years here:

Not an OG but been here a while, what 13 years?
Bought my car 12/05/2005 and joined in 01/2006.
Couple Questions I've always wanted to ask the originals:
When did ls1tech start
Was it known as something before LS1tech
Where has everyone moved on to from the Tech?
Have most got out of the car scene or..?
Have most turned to vettes or something else before 4th gen's?
Where is the go to site now?

Nope. It's been LS1Tech since day one. But most of us "originals" were previously members of a competitor site, LS1.com, which dates back to 1998 if I remember correctly.
I think the answer to most or all of these remaining questions is Facebook. I wouldn't know for sure, I don't use FB at all, but I see lots of other folks mention this when such conversations come up.

The "official" opening-to-the public day was 11-13-2001 from what I remember, but I think the site went live on 11/11 or 11/12 and a couple of folks found it and signed up early.
Thank you! I was still in Middle School at that time LOL! Now I look back on everything, interesting thank you!

Thank you! I've heard of CamaroZ28, LS1.COM, LS1LT1 and a few others. I appreciate your input!

I'd concur here, Fbody Empire, 4th Generation Camaro/Trans Am, LT1 Nation etc.

Another lurker here, mostly crawled the for sale sections. The chicago garage is a decent forum for parts and cars and such in the chicago area I haven't looked too much further than that.
