Emmisions Chicago area. Im trying to register my car in a place near the city where they dont do emmisions testing. Ive heard some of the south burbs dont . If anyone knows any places in the chicago land area can you please let me know.

Testing is based on county and ZIP code, not towns/cities specifically.
All counties around Chicago test. I beleive only 9 counties in IL do testing, 6 around Chicagoland and 3 near St. Louis.

if you have an ls1 that's tuned with edit or hp you really have nothing to worry about. Took the guy literally two minutes from start to finish on my car although it's not too loud. Didn't even look underneath it, i think your appearance may play a factor in that part though.
its not hard to pass emissions. My buddy had a 5.0L F150 with straight pipes all the way back and he did better on emissions than my pos 88 oldsmobile. of course he shoved pieces of catalytic converter into his exhaust manifold but either way... its easy to pass

I want to get rid of all that smog crap and use parts that dont comply w/ emmisions. Id really hate to dump all that money and have to take that stuff off.
