Default shortblock work

I need a shortblock rebuilt. I don't need anything forged, just stock parts and rod bolts. the motor has a spun bearing so i'm guessing the only way to fix it is to rebuild the shortblock. I am located in st. charles IL, does anyone know where there is a good machine shop to do this sort of work?

Call Speed Inc. They are doing mine now. They should be able to hook you up.

Or.....

I have a 99 shortblock with 21K miles on it. Katech rod bolts and you can still see the hatch in the cylinders from GM. It's in great condition.

Your best bet is to buy the used shorty.Or just break down and spend some money on a forged.BTW I know a good local guy for machine work if you go that route.

tuff, the motor is not for my car. it is for someone I am doing some sidework for. let me know who you are thinking of in terms of machine work. did they do your old block? my car will be going forged soon. but I want to be able to run a 300 shot and spin to 7600rpm. (I wonder who I'm starting to sound like)
