I was at home and saw the second one hit. It was surreal. Within an hour, the gas station across from my house had a line literally a mile long and had to have a tanker come refill the station before it slowed down enough for them to close sometime after midnight. Kind of ironic that the gas hike they were all worried about didn't happen for 4 years.

I was in Fort Bliss texas in El Paso..
Talk about a change of environment on a huge military base, one day everybodys laid back bbq'n and drinkin beers and stuff ,by 7:30 am on the 9/11 day you couldnt get in the base or out of the base, not to mention the countless soildiers caring thier m-16 patroling the streets. I serioulsy saw a couple of snipers hiding out on top of some buidlings and every soldier there was working overtime.
