SLP bow tie grill question
SLP bow tie grill question How do you get a white bow tie emblem for it? Mine came with the SS badge and since I don't have an SS I don't want to run it and red does not go with the theam of the car.
Check out the area where the emblem attaches on the grille because there are two versions of that grille... the SS version, and the bowtie version.
The area where the emblem attaches on the SS version is a small oval, and on the bowtie version is shaped like a bowtie.
Dunno if the bowtie would fit on the SS version, that area may be too small.
Probablty best off contacting SLP to see if you can buy a bowtie applique separately.
It'll come red, but you can paint it.

I thought you were going with a pink bowtie?

they come in red from slp. most of the people in the appearance and detail section just paint the bowtie the color of the car. the bowtie pops off but its a pain to put it back on the right way.

i got the SS one.. and actually ended up cutting one of the bowties from the back of a Z28 in half and then gluing each half to either side... from far away it looks ok, but up close you can tell. since its plastic you could just heat up the bowtie and bend it. the area the Ss are in is smaller than the bowtie from the back of a Z
IF there is no SS sticker on the front oval of the SS grill, just go to a place that makes Vinyl decals and have them make you a small Chevy bowtie in the color you want. Most shops will already have a file to make it.
The new bowtie grills come with the sticker....the original ones like I got didn't....they were painted right from SLP. I had mine repainted silver when I had my bowtie grill modified a couple months ago.
