Emissions for Chicago
Emissions for Chicago Hey guys I just wanna be 100% sure before I dump this money in my car. I am going with Kooks Headers and y-pipe for my 00 WS6. Iam gonna remove the AIR, EGR, tune out the rear 02's. If the codes are tuned out I will pass the obd scan correct? Assuming there is nothing else wrong no check engine light I should pass correct?

Im having insufficient swithcing in bank 1 & 2, causing a check engine light. Will I fail with these 2 codes active? What has everyone else done to correct this? I tried swapping in some slightly used 02's but the codes went away and came back 4-5 months later.

If you clear codes & dont have enough readiness test set= reject test
You might need some new O2's & some tuning done there.

so you Illinois guys can't even have a catback or you will NOT pass emissions? damn! for you guys with modded cars, do you just take it to a shop and have them switch codes or something? the only reason i ask is because i may be moving to Chicago and want to make sure everything is straight(both of my cars have at least bolt ons.)

You can pass in IL with damn near any mods you want. Nobody would even blink at a catback. We don't have a visual, we don't have a sniffer. All you need to do is make sure you're tuning is straight (no SES light) and you're fine.
LOL, you could probably pass with open headers around here.
