Hey guys, i think this thread started out asking for those who are interested in cruising around Omaha--I live here and am interested if/when the weather warms up!

Also, a few pages back it looks like people were discussing the lack of 1/4 mile tracks in this area. There is a spot on I-680 where I measured off 1/4 mile, ending in a road sign. It's accurate to within a few feet, and the road is dead level. If anyone is interested, I can PM you the details. Although you won't have the formality of a timeslip, it's better than the local 1/8 mile, imho.

I noticed that a few folks in this thread have mentioned cam changes to their LS1. I was initially planning a cam/valve springs swap too, but backed-off when I got some price quotes! I think HP Motorsports wanted $1600, and C & S wanted about $2K. That doesn't include any other updgrades, ANY parts, or LS1 edit/HPTuners, which I think you need after a cam swap.

So.....has anyone in the Omaha area done a cam change before on a LS1? Anybody intersted helping out, I would pay you for your time. Or know of a professional mechanic who works on the side or out of his garage, etc?
