75mm should have been fine with stock internals, but if cylinder heads and larger camshaft were in order, the 85mm would be the better choice IMO. You will see in you MPH if it works or not.

I picked up 30hp/28 tq by doing the swap and dropping down to 26* of timing from 28*. It is definitely worth it on a Stock Internal car. I am not new to the LS1 game; I have been doing it for many years.
