chicago toll question
chicago toll question i realize you can just blow through the toll, then go online and pay later... so i just stick to the ipass lane, but do you know of anyone who has ever hit the arm, blowing through about 30-40mph?
i didn't realize it was there until the last minute and my rental suv just sent that damn thing flying. it looked like it was designed to get hit and snap off without breaking.
should i be concerned about this?
as far as the rental, it might have scratched the paint a little, but it isn't noticeable.

Thats awsome... Well I would say good luck... If you blow through a toll and they catch you, no ipass, its still a fine. If you blow through a toll, wreck ****, I bet they are gonna look harder... Good luck, and keep us posted if you get a ticket or not! 
if they send me a bill for repair, i'll dispute it so i can get a copy of the video. then i'll post it up on youtube and link it here. i don't care what they charge me, i just wish i had it on video.

And if you plan on blowing the toll just go through the 100% iPass lane, it never has the bar, as opposed to just speeding through regular pay toll lanes w/iPass which do have the bar.

Dude that is funny ****. Im sure they'll find you tho. I wouldn't worry too much about the rental. I'm sure the tollway will send you a fine. I hope it was an unmanned booth tho. Otherwise they may send you a BIG fine. This is a just a guess tho. So was it a manned or unmanned booth?
Here's the thing it is a rental. The state first has to find out who the vehicle belongs to. Then they have to figure out who had the vehicle. Then they need to find you. Sounds like a bunch **** to go through just to replace a piece of wood. I'd have to say it might never get back to you. Being that the state has to contact a rental company, there is way to much red tape. I have a buddy that rents cars all the time to come up to Chicago from KC and he never stops for the tolls. This has been going on for as long as the I pass has been around and he has never had an issue. I would say if you really want the video, turn yourself in. Then it's time for you to wear one of these.

my dad works for the toll way and has had stuff like this happen all the time. they can be dicks and hit you with a big fine. like said above especially if it was a manned booth. never blow through those. people are always walkin across the lanes . taking someones life is not worth the 80 cents your saving by blowing through it. if your gonna blow it go through the ipass only section.

kinda glad you updated...just remembered i missed a toll the other day... by chicago. Got a link? or where exactly do you go to pay it? and do they charge you more or just the $1.00? Glad our tax dollars go toward the horrible illinois roads...and we have to pay extra to drive on them

i rented a trailer from uhaul. had i pass in the car but i guess it didnt register. now this was in april. i just got a bill in the mail from uhaul for $50. toll, toll fine, and uhaul fine. and i cant dispute it.
Man I wish I could have seen that.
It's Good You're In The Clear, I know a few Guys who Got big fines for blowing through tolls. They were doing it for months, but still....they never went heads up with the wooden bar.

Wife had a rental car back in 2007, and just recently got a notice that she went through the IPASS lanes with it 3 times... She has an IPASS, but it wasn't registered to the rental car, obviously. She disputed it with the Tollway Authority and still had to pay the toll, but not the $20 per violation fine. So, even if you're in a rental car and blow the toll, they can track you down eventually even if it takes 12+ months. Ghey...
