Default Mechanic,repair help

I'm on the southwest side of Chicago and am having some problems with my 02 z28. There is a high pitch whine coming from the front of the engine, and it goes up with RPMs. I changed the idler pulley and this was not it. I do not have the time or tools to go in depth into fixing this. Also, at start up if I shift the car into any gear besides park too soon, the car dies. If anyone knows how to do the VATS bypass, that would be awesome too! If anyone is in the area and could help me out for some $ lemme know. Thanks!

just get a long screwdriver or pry bar and stick the handle in your ear and start putting on things as a listening tool. check the alternator, water pump, power steering pump, etc. you'll find it.
