Bring a few hundred in cash. There are things you can't buy with the eagle cash card. Bring your own linen, the mayor's cell sux. If you don't own a laptop yet, get one, AAFES charges to much.

Be sure and have your eagle cash card setup. AAFES no longer has cash in the buildings starting on oct 1 2009. I guess its part of us pulling out.

wow lot of army in here im a marine at Al Asad Air Base been here since January 19th 2009 and will be leaving here January 26th 2010 so year long its my first deployment.

Al Asad was the ****! Wasn't that bad when i was there in 05. Just got back from my second tour, no chit, like, 4 days ago. Haven't been able to get back to a regular sleep pattern yet

Adder/Talil here, but they may be moving us to Scania in the next few months... Yuck. Talil ain't bad compared to Scania. Been all over the place, guy that said he was in Gary Owen, how do you like it? It wasn't so great when I was there a few weeks ago...

not in Iraq proper...doin' the Deid right now. If you guys are getting rides out of the country to here on a C130j it's probably one of ours. Eagle cash card is a joke to me. I can live here on a little of nothing so cash will be there when I get home. 90 days and counting today.
