Gitmo Has anyone ever been stationed here.
I was forced to fill a hard fill billet, and I got stuck with detainee duty.
For anyone that has been stationed here, how did you like it? How much is it going to really suck?

I was there but it was for the refugee's in 1996. It was Ok. The weather is nice they have outdoor theatres and bars. I enjoyed myself but I was only there for six months. The fishing, snorkling and diving are really cool too. It's like any assignment in the military its what you make of it.
Never been there, but one of my Lance Corporals was there back before and during OIF-1. He said it is not bad, and he was there with the infantry as a radio operator. He said he did a little with the detainees but not much. Overall, I hear it is not too bad as long as you are not on the mirror posts. I can't imagine detainee guard is much fun though.

I've got alot of friends that are there or have been there recently. They said it's not bad once you get use to everything. Look at it like this. if your getting AIP then your making more money there then we do in IRAQ. and you get to drink
