current combat zone pay?

current combat zone pay? I'm headed to Iraq for six months this next March, just wondering what the current pay is? I'm married and currently receive my base pay, BAH, and BAS. I've been told everything will go to being tax free, then i'll receive hazard duty pay and separation pay. I know separation pay is $250, but how much is hazard duty pay? And is there a hazard duty pay AND a combat pay? or is that the same thing? I'm just trying to figure out how much extra money i'll be making. Thanks guys.
If you are in a zone deemed combat hazardous, (pretty much anywhere in the middle east) you will recieve the month you are there even if it is for only a day or less fully tax free. You will also recieve hazardous duty pay (about $200-$250 if memory serves me). Depending on where you are (if its deemed harsh enough), you will also recieve hardship pay (what bene is refferring to), and that varies on amount based on where you are and how bad it is.
Once you have been deployed/seperated from your spouse for more than a month, you are entitled to your seperation pay ($250). Finally, you will also be payed a small amount for incedentals (toiletries ect) per day. It's not much as it's usually only $2-$4 a day, but after a long deployment, it does end up to be a bit.
The biggest will really be your tax free. Also check with your banks at home because a lot of time while you are deployed if you have any loans out, you can escape paying any interest on them while you are deployed.
All in all, you make the most money over there not from all what is listed above, but by the simple fact everything is provided for you over there, and there is little to nothing to spend your money on. So, unless your wife is going on a shopping spree while you are gone (mine did
), you should not really have anything major or even minor if you can do without stopping by the shoppette or what have you to pick up cigarette's or magazines.
