Default Bigger cam for the ProCharged C6

The customer that owns the white C6 that we built last year can't leave it alone and had us stuff a pretty large cam in it and change the exhaust, because he wants it as loud as possible.



I didn't get a video after tuning, so the idle quality here isn't great, but when it was finished it idled pretty good. When we put it together, he said he just wanted it lumpy and didn't care how it idled or drove

I'm not sure of the specs, it was a custom grind spec'd for this car.

Lol, people are dumb. Why would he ask to put that much cam in a boosted car, performance > sound

Other than that it's a sick ride though, you guys did a great job. The widebody kit is definitely something I'd want.

Just because it is boosted and has a big cam does not mean it wont perform well. Knew a guy that did a similar thing, and the car ran very good.

Either way, that car looks and sounds amazing.

I've been asking that VERY SAME thing here for months. I can never get a definative answer. Knowing the the exact cam design used and the one it replaced, the blower and boost numbers, and the before and after tuning and dyno numbers would tell that story. But I guess that is just asking too much.
The way I understand it is "yes". Overlap (exhaust scavanging) cam designs do leak boost in blower and turbo setups. BUT, I was wondering if this would actually help with cylinder cooling, cylinder charging, and reducing detonation. Maybe reduce the amount of enrichening of the mixture too. If so, it might be worth having dispite the boost leak. I hate the idea of having to run my manifold wet with meth injectors and such. DEFINATELY sounds cool too.
From a performance standpoint, you would have to actually make more power (even with the leaking boost) than you are losing with the leaking boost and driving the blower to make it worth running the overlapped timing cam. Not to mention, you'de want to be running a lot of cubes to make up for the low end torque you'de be giving up in the tradeoff.
Nice Vette though. I'm sure the owner is stoked.
