+1 I've had a few high 14's 15 flats because I hit 2nd too hard on a not so sticky day and the minute that rear starts kicking out I let off. No I’m not a professional (that’s for sure) and no my cars isn’t that fast but better to run a crap time than to wreck your **** at the track.

Either way it really sucks for that guy I feel everytime somone eats it at the strip even if it is a POS because it might be the world to that person.

Ya it does make you sick no matter if you like the car or not. I seen a guy wreck his RX-7 doing a John Force burn out last year, and even though he was showing off , you still hate to see it happen.

Nope...Insurance policies don't cover accidents that occur while racing or using the car for sport or competition.

The only carrier that allows racing is Kincaid, but they're specifically for non-street legal race cars.

There was a guy at my local strip that wrecked his Mach 1 hitting the wall at 35mph... it was fixable of course but he just told his insurance company he did it on private property and they covered it.

i asked my insurance(American Family) and they said i can go to the track and they will cover it UNLESS it's a Competition(money, prizes). If it's just for the fun of it they will. Just what they said.

Man... brand new car they probably owe $30k+ on, and insurance probably won't cover it. It makes me glad that I A) bought used, B) have paid it off, and C) have a DD. I really feel for that guy.

Any respectable track has to document a crash for their liability purposes. They note the VIN and log the incident in a report. If the driver's insurance company somehow cross-references it, they'll be in a world of trouble. Insurance fraud is a felony, and nowadays, insurance companies are really cracking down on their claims processing.

My old company used to insure two of the major motorsports parks in Florida. People that used to tow their cars off the property and claimed it happened on a DOT road, got caught all the time. I had to give several depositions on behalf of the tracks - it was a pain in the ***.

Yah that whopping 320hp in a 4k lb car can be a handfull..
Well stock is 361hp...so don't know where you got 320...

13.2 is a bit faster than one would expect for stock...likely CAI, Tune and headers.

Slower cars will get squirrelly sometimes. I know of a fellow who had a bolt-on, LS2 Goat that totaled his at Memphis Motorsports and remember seeing another fellow in a New Edge GT get sideways going into 2nd; that was a low 14, high 13 second car.

Looks like the same damage that happened to a buddy of mine's Supra at the track a few years ago. Car was deep in the 10's and a coolant line plug popped off dumping coolant on the track. That plus slicks equaled a totaled Supra... it was scary to watch in person, but he came out just fine. Insurance wouldn't cover it, though...

Shelby's car didn't get covered..that's why it's still sitting in her garage getting parted out.
