Just for sh*ts and giggles...98WS6, I don't know how into photography you are, but $200 in off camera flash lighting would really make your garage shots nice. I really would need to see more detail in the sides and rear of the car to vote for it.

I'm not much into photography. I know most of the settings throughout the camera, but I wouldn't go out buying all that stuff.

I am thinking there might be other ways to yield some really cool results. I will have to play with them sometime.

You can't fake good lighting.

True, but it might be considered a good source of lighting though... I just don't know how well it works on large scale. I have played with it on small scale before, but no car sizes.

What are you referring to? I was under the impression you were talking about using post-processing.

No I was thinking maybe those large work lights, you would just have to find a way to diffuse the light so it wouldn't be so harsh.

It can work, although that may be even more of a pain to lug around. I would buy an umbrella made for diffusing flash and cut it up to fit the work lights. Then you would just have to adjust your white balance in p.p.

Yeah I am thinking about playing around with a setup similar in the low light in the barn, that way I am not lugging stuff around trying to figure it all out.

how are you guys getting the rolling shots? I mean, the only way I could see doing that is being in another car driving fairly fast and holding your camera near the ground... **** that!

well which ones are you talking about? Some of them are "rig" shots, and others look like regular rolling shots.

As said above, it's called a "Rig." The camera is actually attached to a boom that extends off of the car. It attaches to the car with a suction cup or two.
