Exclamation Computer Question

How would I take a music tape and transfer the sound onto my computer. My little sister made a christmas tape for my mom. She sung Christmas songs with music in the background and she was wanting me to put it on a CD. I have a cord what will plug into the headphone jack on the tape player and the mic jack on the computer but I have no software to recieve the music. The sound recorder that came with my computer works but it only records one minute and thats not long enough. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thank You

Sounds to me like you need some more/better software.
I'm not big on video/audio, but several people here are.
Here's a TTT so hopefully someone will chime in soon!

Go to www.download.com and just look for some sort of recorder. You just need something that can record longer than the windows recorder.

To get it onto a cd you need to record it at 44khz and stereo. Put the plug into the line in plug. Get something like cool edit, or nero wave editor to record it with. You will have to adjust the level with the volume control panel on your computer.

Thanks, I'm going to try that today. Hopefully it works. I'll reply and let you all know if it worked or not. Thanks once again.

Go to www.softpedia.com. They have more useful stuff than download.com
