Default Question for photoshop MODs

I wanted to know what you guys do to extract objects out of your images? Do you use "Masks" or what? I just wanted to know, becuase I am trying to figure out the best way to go....

I am not a MOD but...........
I usually use the extract tool in your filters section. You also want to use the smallest bruch possible. There is an online tutorial at www.photoshopcafe.com, that is where i learned from!

I usually use the lasso tool and just outline (say I am using a car) the car really quick. Then i switch to quick mask mode and go in with a small brush and fine tune it to get the best possible selection.

They should clarify that there are different types of lassos that you can use. Standard Lasso Tool, Polygonal Lasso, and Magnetic Lasso. I receommend using either the polygonal or magnetic, prefferably the polygonal.
