old and slow This might be my 10+ yo daily driver but I am just happy making back to the track. Seems like it has been 5 years but it has only been 2+ since I have made more than a couple passes at the track. Last year two trips after a few mods to this 99SS and both resulted with a busted rear, first one was the 10bolt and could have been expected but then after putting a built 9" Moser in there and have the D-Locker fail, WTF? Thanks Scott Koresky at Driveline Solutions, well my bad since he had bad feedback on this website.
This was my third pass at the first TnT at Lebanon Valley Dragway this year, first two featured driver failures, but the old 99 Camaro felt frisky every time down the track. this 12.77 beat my best by 2 tenths with a horrible 60ft spinning all the way thru 1st and short shifting it so I could get some track data downloaded. My 3 yo Nitto's have some rubber left but I struggled to get them to hook so they will be getting replaced by the new MikeyT ET Street Radials when it gets warmer. I have lots of work to do to figure out the new setup of tire/rear air bag pressures and what to launch at with the 9", who knows I might even have to invest in some adjustable shocks like I have in my Cobra. I don't think I will need anything to run 12.5, just some more passes to get the feel back. This is not an especially fast pass, even with stock heads, stock fuel, stock intake and full weight including my fat *** but I was happy with it after the last two trips top the track cost me MegaBucks.
