had it been a kit car as in no resemblance to any production car it'd be cool. but taking an exotic car and making a "kit" jsut dont appeal to me. It may be fast and possibly faster than the real countach, but i'd still much rather have that screaming V12

i guess this is one of those to each his own moments...
if i were the one who built it i would definetely be partial to the countach that I built as opposed to the one that was available to the public.
From a performance point of view whichever one was more bang for the buck would be what i would pick. If the kits faster, more fun to drive and built solidly i would go with it in a heartbeat, especially if it was 10's of thousands cheaper.
there is something to be said about having an authentic Lambo, and I understand that there is some "prestige" in that. But i also know that the prestige you are earning is simply what their marketing department has convinced you of.

Not everyone has the money to buy a Countach, and some people find more pleasure in building something to their specs, regardless of what it copies.
