Good pass. The new gt500 is a mph beast but the zl1 runs very good considering it makes less at the flywheel than a stock gt500 does at the tire, plus the weight disadvantage.

I dynoed one at work and it put down 472 (auto). With a lpe 650 setup (14 psi, cai, tune with stock exhaust) it put down 574 on 93 octane, on the stock heat exchanger...

The gt500 comes more drag ready, the zl1 will pickup more than the gt500 as it is modded though I think.
