Seeing people with exotic works of art is pure motivation for me.

One day...

Great looking cars. Congrats on the new corvette.

It's the same rear quarters that the C6Z06's come with. Some people with the base body style add them to get the looks of the Z06's. I did the same with mine because I didn't want a Z06 but love the widebody look and the ability to have 345'a on the rear.

He probablys prefers the LS3.

I actually plan on getting a 08 c6 here soon as well.

I just feel safer with the ls3 and mods.

Noob here so sorry for not understanding but how is the LS3 safer for mods?

Also kinda off topic but whats the Corvette tax? Never heard of it until seeing it mentioned on this forum a couple days ago.

I think he posted something about having a better platform for boost. I could be wrong tho.

Zero desire for the LS7 because I wanted a motor strong for boost and the LS7 isn't that motor. My last car was all motor/nitrous and if I wanted that route I would have got a Z06 but boost is where its at so LS3 made more sense. Also if I would have got a Z06 it probably would have been a 2006 or 2007 and I wanted a 2008 or newer corvette because of the better rear end and tr6060 trans.

LS3 has lower compression that is "safer" for boost compared to a LS7. Corvette tax is a term used to describe how parts for the corvette are higher. It's not a real tax however.

used by people who have moved up the corvette from cheaper cars, and were accustomed to certain price ranges for items. moving to a more expensive car (not limited to corvettes) typically also comes with more expensive prices for everything else. performance and appearance mods, repair/labor work, etc.

only a popular term because so many people with corvettes started with the lower level stuff, like f-bodies

Gotcha, for curiosity's sake, where does the LS1 rank/compare to those two in terms of boost safety.

Nice car! If I could stop spending on my other toys mine would look the same right now with a blower under the hood Oh well, getting 50mpg on my bike when gas is $4.65 a gallon for premium right now makes it worth it haha.

All of this, and you forgot to add in the fact that the LS7s have a MAJOR (IMO) problem with breaking the stock rocker arm bearings. When I was shopping it seemed like every LS7 with 40-50k on it already had a rebuilt motor, not something I'd want to deal with on a $40k car! It's not a hard thing to fix, but I doubt most Z06 owners would have let me rip into their cars before I bought it to check for already falling apart bearings ha.

From what I know it goes LS1/LS3/LS7 because the LS1 has thicker cylinder walls than the rest but I could be wrong. Someone else will verify it pretty soon im sure of it.
