Default My Start to Photography

Here's a link to some of my photography work so far. Have only been shooting for a few months now and using a Canon EOS Rebel T3 with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Type II Lens. All edited in Adobe Lightroom. Open to criticism.

Some nice work there but a lot of them look dark.

Really like to see more non car show setting pictures. Car shows make for horrible backgrounds.

Learning as I go, thanks for the tips. I haven't had anyone really interested in going outside of the car show so I can shoot their car, so car shows it is.

What would be a good approach for brightening the pictures up ? More exposure, longer shutter ?

If you are forced to shoot at a show use a lower fstop so the focus is on the car even more

How do the untouched photos compare? It honestly looks more like the darkness is coming from something during processing than from the photos.

Untouched photos look about the same, I don't go crazy editing them. But next go around, I will definitely keep an eye on the brightness as I can see what you mean by them being too dark. Thank you.

I have the same issue (look at my sig...that one is too dark) and I found it was due to shooting to make the previews look good on the camera.

Try making them look a step more exposed than it looks like they "should" be. The backlight on the LCD might be washing them out some so you could be adjusting to compensate.

Just a guess here...I'm far far far from a professional. Your pictures do look really good though. Just trying to give some constructive criticism to make them even better.
