Late model Ls engine swap

Has anybody taken a late model LS say 2013 impala police car motor and swaped it into an older vehicle is there problems with the variable timing management six speed automatic transmission, I'm not concerned about mounting and fitment just wiring and getting it running the plumbing electrical, computer, i'm not sure but I think it has a variable timing system that drops cylinders for fuel management can that be bypassed. If you know of a forum or tread please let me know Thanks Dan

It's a front wheel drive unit. The trans were the weak point on these. I don't think anybody has paid any attention to these.

this^^^ unless you are swapping it into another front wheel drive vehicle it will not work, plus those trans are junk. you would be much better off finding a wrecked ls1 Camaro/trans am or gto or something like that and pulling the motor/trans and swapping that into something

if you still want to pursue this (not sure why you would) post up in the conversion/hybrid section of this forum, that has lots of info on swapping an lsx motor into just about anything you can think of
