My original T56 developed a faint whine even before I had it built and viperized (no pump). I was hoping that it would go away after the rebuild, but it didn't. My local builder told me that he didn't see any abnormal wear on any of the gear teeth, he even consulted one of the T56 builder/sponsor here and was told that they've seen some of the core shifting enough to cause a whine but not necessarily hurt the gears.

So you are still running a T56? I was told it wouldn't hild at my power level, 900 rwhp. If you're still running a T56 and it's holding for you I'm going to put a pump on it just for reassurance and not worry about my slight whine.
