Thumbs up Compressing videos and posting them?

I got a new camcorder that records on mini DVD disks in DVD format, and am wanting to post up vids of the car. Is there a good program out there that will allow me to convert from DVD format to a smaller format for the purpose of posting online?

Once I do get the video smaller, where do you guys post videos?

TIA

Sean

Well, i'm not too familiar with mini DVD, but since it does have dvd in the name, I guess you could start by using a program like dvd decryptor to extract the files to your computer.

From there though, I'm not sure which program would be able to extract the .mpg out of the dvd-encoded format. I used something like cd-da extractor to do this with dragging an mpg out of a VCD. perhaps it works with DVD files too.

From there, if the file is still too big, since it's original, you could always download Windows Media Encoder, and try messing with their settings to convert the video to .wmv format.

I was able to do quite a bit with all of the freeware DVD tools I've found online.
