Words just can't do those engines justice. I love watching F1 races and especially seeing them accelerate back out of the pits. The F1 cars accelerate back up to racing speed in just a matter of seconds. When I see that I can never stop thinking about the NASCAR boys on the superspeedways taking almost a full lap to get back up to racing speeds. The F1 cars' power/weight ratio is just insane. BTW, has anyone seen the vid of the "drag race" between the F1 car and the fighter jet??? I like that vid too.

heres another one: http://www.renaultf1.com/en/car/engine/

go to the multimedia area on the right and select video if it isn't already selected, then click on the 3rd video.

it's not as good as last years vid on that site but it still sends chills up my spine watching it.

If i remember right, the cars ran the 1/4 in 9 secs at 180. This was est when they first ran at indy a few years back by some mag using a radar gun. Also the piston speed is about 80 fps at redline and the engines put out about 300 to 350 pds of trq.
