Vert weighs 1lb more the the Coupe does. Z is 87 pounds lighter then the coupe if i'm not mistaken.

My Z06 dynoed 7 more rwhp than the SS in that video.I would tear that *** up easily in a race, street or track.I've never driven a auto C5 so that's the only thing I can compare it to from personal experience.

I own one of each so there is no C5 bias here.My SS would've gotten stomped by my Z stock to stock.
You're comparing a Z06 to an A4 Vert?

how come my SS has walked its fair share of c5 vettes? Last time i checked its because they have the same motor, so its just about anybodys race.

It's not uncommon for f-body's to out dyno a vette. Seams as though the diff eats up a little more power. If you are running against 2.73 A4s you'd walk them.

Also F-body's run 3.23 ratio for the optional rear vs 3.15 in the C5. M6 vs M6 a C5 should win though, assuming same driver and conditions, traction, etc.

I think it comes down to the driver though. I pulled a C5 almost 2 cars lengths to 60 when I had my BMW M5, FWIW, ;-)

your z06 only dynoed 337 rwhp? isn't that incredibly low for a z? i thought most are in the 350's...where do you live? anywhere near chicago? Id like to try out a z and see how much i lose by.
My fault on not reading the post again.I dynoed 357 rwhp with 300 miles on the car.
I know it's not fair to compare a Z to a SS.
Probably equal to a 2.73 auto vert C5 going against a 330 rwhp 6sp SS with the jump.

i can see an m6 walkin an a4 just not about that badly. as far as i know even though the ss specs are 325hp vs a vette's 350 the motors put out the same amount of power. and since it was an ss with a 6-speed he has 3.42's regardless. unless i was misinformed on ss's gear ratio's.

Well he said his motor is a freak, making more power that should. And besides at certain speeds the a4 vette and all the other a4s in the world doesn't down shift. And thats when you get left really really really bad. I remember the last time I raced a s2k in an a4 vette at the wrong speed. I think we were rolling right where the top of 1st is. 40-50. Anyways we were dead even until about 60-70 where I proceeded to had him his *** and pull more that a few car lengths. It all depends on what speed you go from in the auto.
