Iraq Sand Storm

Here are some pics from a huge sand storm in Iraq a friend sent to me. I've never seen anything like it before. Pretty amazing.

i have never seen anything like that before, very serious looking. It looks an avalanche of sand..the wind blowing that sand can probably tear clothing to shreds huh?

I was in iraq for 8 month a year ago.... I never saw a storm come in like that..thats crazy!!!!

Yeah those were taken on a base in Alasad (ALL-A-SOD)....I am in balad, we have had two sand storms but NOTHING like that....LOL
That is some pretty insane ****. BUt at least they saw it coming. I work nights so we dont get to see what's coming or not....LMAO

Best take a shower after that one....

I never saw a sand storm that bad when I was there. Saw some other stuff though that I wish I hadn't.

I only had one like that. That was in Kuwait though. Very nasty! Especially when your in a hummer with no doors!!! LOL, I will have to dig up the pics.

been there done that but i was at prince sultan airbase (psab)saudia arabia. the storm lasted about 30 mins and i was stuck on the taxiway at the hold lines waiting for clearance to cross the runway and the storm came out of nowhere scared me shitless.

I dont know if its the same storm but yesterday a pretty strong sand storm hit us in Bahrain too.. it was something we have never seen before..
i was driving around and all of a sudden it got really windy! i attached a really bad quality picture i took with my phone cam of this palm tree that fell on a car parked next to its house that i saw while driving back home..
