Default Need pics for a "HOW-TO" thread

I have started on working a "how to" for removing the engine out of the bottom for Camaro and Firebird owners. I will make a list below and check them off as I get these pics. Thanks to all that help and I will continue searching the site as well. I can use pics installed or out. Here we go, I will put a small description beside them as well.

- Lift, or cherry picker, or jacks you use and where you hook it up to your car.

- Battery area, in car connected or diconnected will be fine.

- Petcock valve on the bottom of the radiator and the lower radiator hoses.

- The lid, MAF, all the way to the TB on or out of the car, maybe both.

- Upper Radiator hoses.

- Throttle Body cable locking tab

- Throttle Body itself with a good view of the TB arm

- Fuel line at the intake and a pic of the release tool required to do it.

- Brake Booster hose at the Vacuum booster.

- Purge Selenoid.

- AIR and EGR systems, I am pretty sure that they are different on the 98-00 and the 01-02 so pics of both would be great.

- ABS module.

- The shock twer bolts. All 4 need to be clearly seen.

- The 2 places in the intermediate steering shaft that connect it to the steering knuckle.

- All of the plugs on the passenger side of the underhood compartment, including the PCM installed.

- The PCM removed.

- The place where the two wire bundles run into the the interior through the firewall on the passenger side.

- AC Compressor, the 2 top bolts, 15mm.

- AC Compressor, the 2 lower bolts, 15mm.

- Starter, installed and out would be great.

- Crankshaft Positioning Sensor.

- Oil Level Sensor, a close zoom and an area shot would be great.

- Front sway bar and the 4 bolt locations.

- Pics of the Ground Straps and area pics as well.

- Alternator and the constant wire on it, installed or out.

- The quick connect throw-out bearing on the tranny.

- The male and female ends of the quick connect out of the tranny.

- Shifter cable on an auto.

- Stock Y, ORY, and Catted Aftermarket Y, the ends. A good "area shot" would be nice as well.

- Drive Shaft, and U-bolts.

- The stock Torque arm, and an aftermarket one as well.

- Oil pressure sender at the back of the intake.

- Wheel speed sensors.

- Shifter Boot for Manual tranny.

- all the wiring on top of the motor ready for removal, or removed.

- A tray or whatever you personally use to set your engine on to pull it from underneath the car.

- A good pics of the wheel wells.

- The transmission cross-member.

- You favorite Beer

Thanks alot, you will see a red "x" show up as I get the pics needed like this, X. Also feel free to add any pics you think are needed to see what's going on as the engine is being pulled or replaced. You can post em up here or send them to ls1_2000@yahoo.com. Several pics needed as you can tell and multiples and various angles will help.

Thanks alot for the help, and in case you are wondering what the hell I am doing wit this, check it out.

Jimmy, thanks for the link, I'll look it up tonight and see what all I might can use. Just browsing I saw the intake, complete engine out, and a few of the sensors I think will be helpful.

Yes I would agree. Your motor definately looks sweet in that truck. Mine is out but I can't modify the images. I don't want to ask someone to fix 40-60 pics for me just so I can tie them up for 3-4 days. I am getting alot of good stuf off of here, searching the web, other sites, and other members. Your motor is a great work of art, is all that powder-coated or sprayed or what? I would really like to know because I have my motor out right now and wouldn't mind spending the extra money to get it looking like that.

Sorry, that's all I have. I was more concerned with the job than pictures. I can answer anything if there is a question though. Only wish my stuff was as clean as jimmyp's.

I know what you mean, jimmy's does look great. I am going to have to do all of that before I put mine back in this time to get ready for the shows next year, thanks for your pics.
