Do you have a good fuel pump? If so, I say back the timing off a bit and spray the 200. I am still on the stock shortblock and have put 60+ bottles through it!!

I just have a walbro 255lph pump and use LS1 Edit to pull timing.

I think the Z06 was on a 100 shot.
BTW I'm running the TNT F2 kit.

i still dont get it, Ti rods and cast alluminum pistons--obviosly thats gonna be a weak spot why bother with all the rest if your gonna leave on of the most crucial parts half-assed? i mean i know GM isnt largely concerned with the tuner market, but they are obviously appealing to it through their ads and such, let alone building a car based on a race car? granted sound slike that Z could have benefited from a proper tune, instead of just a bottle slaped on it, but still i saw this coming, so did others im sure
if they actually build and produce the bule devil or whatever, you think they'd be dumb enough to use the same pistons?

::not arguing with you::
but i dont see how a z isnt meant for power adders and less than a previous vette or f bod. same high(er) compression (relativly speaking), same crappy pistons, and from what we've seen on dynos they are actually tuned richer and with more timing then previous Z's which were much leaner form the factory, im sure the pcm's basic for engine functions are the same, and if anything there are built better closer to optimun specs with stronger and lighter rods etc..., i still just think the pistons material is crap
but im biased i blew my ss up, and i still dont think it was my fault--lol

c 'mon now you dont have to be a smart *** d00d! its a discussion forum
you made a statement sayingthey arent meant for power adders
i said is this Z any less equipt for power adders than a previous Z
you could have just backed up your statement with some info i likely didnt know about, or just said i dont know, you didnt have to be a smart ***, thats not helping me or anyone else learn anything
is it really crap--no probably not, is it a weak point in the motor, quite possibly. is the quality of the pistons inconsistent with the quality of the rest of the engines internals, yes probably. But i doubt its any different then the alloy used in the other LSX motors. so i disagree with you i guess, i say its just as meant* for power adders any any other lsX motor.
my statement from the piston material being crap stems from be blowing mine up on nitrous, after 30 plus bottles the piston gave out and literally just broke into peices, it didnt melt, it wasnt lean, it looks like you hit it with a hammer and chisel, my close friend, another board member, experienced the same thing, after calling several sponsors pricing motors and discussing my situation, they confirmed that they have seen it happen many times before, and the likely explaination is that the material could withstand the conditions and gave way, not due to detonation and or a lean condition. so is it crap --no, but it could be better, or atleast equal to the level of the rest fo the internal compenents
however if you know something i havent come across yet that makes these motors more vulnerable, pls lemme know im here to learn not argue
