Looking to get a Digital Video/Picture Camera

Looking to get a Digital Video/Picture Camera I figured I would post in this section because most of the people who spend time in here would know. I am looking for a Digital Camera that takes good pics and video. What do you guys recommend? I am looking to spend less than or around $500.
if you are looking for a good first camera to get started but a little bit more features than a regular point and shoot camera i would look at a Canon S2 or a Nikon Coolpix P1

I have been very pleased with my Canon ZR200. It works effortlessly with my HP. If you have a widescreen TV, this camera is a must since it has a widescreen option. In fact I am transferring a video as I type this post. There are nicer cameras out there but will cost you a bunch more. Are you looking for a picture camera or video? If you're looking for a vid check out the sony mini DV HC46 or something (it's 499). I just picked one up, which was actually defective so circuit city had to order me a new one, but it's pretty slick. Mostly everything is touch screen on it.

I have no idea about a 1 GB disk. I mainly use the miniDV tape for movies. I only have a 60mb disk so I use it mostly for pics.
That looks like a good deal for the ZR700. My 200 was just over $300 when I bought. Damn they change fast.

ok so camcorder, gotcha, get a Sony Handycam HC36 or HC46 best bang for the buck.
