Damn, you can get MUCH BETTER times out of that!

Detroitmuscle 06-05-2006 03:27 PM

My point exactly my best was at Lapeer and it was 12.85 at 110 on a 2.1 60' these nittos don't seem to hook all that well so I'm getting some other rims and mounting up some Mickey T DRs.

I can imagine your anger. Getting worse times then a stock, stalled a4 gets. Ya, and screw nitto's, get some hoosier qtp's

Detroitmuscle 06-05-2006 09:18 PM

Yep once I get a tire I hope the times will improve just don't wanna blow the 10 bolt.

Detroitmuscle 06-07-2006 05:16 PM

Any other opinions?

2001z 06-07-2006 05:42 PM

are those dyno numbers correct ?? even if its a mustang dyno you should be closer to 400 unlocked .

Detroitmuscle 06-07-2006 07:40 PM

Yeah those numbers are current. The guy that tuned my car has a very low reading dyno, the other H/C LS1s put down similar numbers at his shop but they all seem to run great track times except for me.

I've heard Lapeer times are off!

Detroitmuscle 06-07-2006 09:13 PM

do they tend to be slower or faster or just plain off?

WHPLASH 06-12-2006 12:41 PM

His dyno #'s are correct and that dyno he was on does read low. It will dyno alot better elsewhere. My dads heads/cam 02' vette put down 340/30X.

Lapeer's trap speed used to be off, but its been correct for a couple years now. It used to read about 5mph too fast.

Did you upgrade your rod bolts when you did the cam and all that????

Detroitmuscle 06-12-2006 06:21 PM

No I did not the entire bottom end is stock.

Z28LS1camaroguy 06-12-2006 06:52 PM

1998s have crappy rod bolts and if your gonna be running her hard and putting a cam inside you should really look at upgrading the rod bolts to ARP rod bolts soon.

Detroitmuscle 06-13-2006 08:27 AM

Thanks for the info, I'll definatly be upgrading the rod bolts in the future as I'm going to be purchasing a fully forged shortblock with Low compression pistions to go FI but I have to take care of the tranny, rear end, and fuel first.
