Great Weekend for Racing
Went out to the dirtpit again (Lapeer) this weekend for some great weather and good times. Met up with a bunch of guys from mifbody and also ran my best time yet, my previous best was 12.85. My buddy made this video for me last night I think it turned out pretty good check it out. (p.s. all 60' times were 2.0 or slower I need a tire bad)

Nice runs!!! That is some good MPH you are pulling. I was at US 131 dragway sunday and ran a 12.9 with a 1.9 60' then I did a better burnout with some bald nittos and ran a best of 12.66 1.75 60' @106.66 so there is an example of what a decent 60' time can do and with your power levels with a decent tire you could be in the 1.6 60' range dropping you into the 11's!! Did you ever run with just the H/C and no stall?? If so what was the MPH?? I'm just wondering how efficient the converter is.

Yeah the track isn't the stickiest at Lapeer but I think I should be able to hook up better. I have never run without the stall, I actually had it in before the H/C so I don't have direct compariosn but I will assure you it made quite the difference then and that was with street tires.

I forgot to add, may I ask how you launch the car at the track. Mine is typically launched around 1800 and then I ease into the throttle because it spins, any tips? Next time I go I'll probably still be on Nittos but this time with 17" rims so they'll be 275s.

Well, I have always launched from like 500-800 RPM basically just to load the drivetrain and stab it!! It hooked great for me that way but only when I did a good burnout(18PSI 6-8second burnout ). It dawned on me on the way home from the track that I didn't try to stall it up any! Mainly because I have very little track time with the stall in so I was launching like I usually did without the stall..doh!! I've heard these Yank SS converters like to be launched from idle, but I do plan on playing with the RPM on the launch this summer/fall to see what I can do and it's going to be a must to get this thing tuned because the shift points are whacked. Did you have Sean completley delete TM??

I really don't know if he did anything with TM, I never bothered to ask but before the H/C I never had any problems with it. I usually put some load on the converter just because I heard it wears on the tranny and rear hard if you launch off idle but I'm always running around 25psi on my Nittos I'll have to try 18 next time as well.

Finally viewed the video. Great runs. It looks like a great time. And thanks for the invite. We'll try it again sometime after I get the car fixed.
I wish you had some footage of a run with the Dodge Omni. LOL
