Why did the owner take off running?

I allways keep a fire extenguisher behind my drivers seat.

there was another video that im searching for that explains what happens after. basically the owner claims that the kit was installed by a respected speed shop and did not bypass the window switch and as of the car..he told the truth to the insurance company and they covered it

This vid was posted in the nitrous section a while back. If I remember correctly, the guy had no window switch (or it was not working or something), and missed a shift while spraying. Shows the importance of using the safety items when running nitrous. That definitely sucks though .

The engine bogged to below the safe to spray RPMs on the launch, puddled, and boom. My guess is he didnt have a window switch, altho I could be wrong?

You're right, that's what was originally posted, I'm mistaken. He bogged down and had no window switch, spraying at way too low of an RPM.

I talk to one of his buddies on LS1tech a few weeks back and he showed me this video.

Its off of there car clubs website www.spdkilz.com goto videos and scroll down, also this was the description in beside the videos link:

This is a tribute video to my friend (and President of my car club, Shocker Racing) James' 2001 Z06. He was at the track on 4-9-05 and we think his fuel pooled in his intake manifold and BOOM. BTW, he was using a window switch for his nitrous, and had the setup professionally installed. All that other BS you hear online is just that. This was a technical malfunction within the system.

Ya the guy taping the vid is a idiot. My bloods blue but I wouldn't act like that guy. Regardless it's someones car, all the work on it and it's their pride and joy. Nothing funny about it. But it was weird why he ran. I guess he thought the gas tank was going to blow. For it to lift the hood off there had to be alot of it pooled right? I though for normal backfires they would just blow back throught the plastic intake (after the TB)? -Mark

He ran, as I would, because there was A LOT of flammable stuff under there and you never know what could happen.
