play video from camcorder to PC

play video from camcorder to PC I have a JVC model # GR-D290. I am able to transfer and copy still images stored in the memory card of the camcorder but I am not able to play the video on my PC. What software do i need to buy to play the vedeo on my PC?

i forget the name of my program its at home but i just went and asked some one at the store i think it cost like 60$.ive heard windows media movie maker is pretty good but thats about all i know on the subject

If you're running XP, you should have Windows Movie Maker...
Just connect your camera to the computer via Firewire and a list of programs to capture video should pop up....

The manual says you can do it using USB:
I would install the software that came with the camera. Then, you should be able to use the utilities that came on the CD, or Windows Movie Maker to create videos.
