As for autox times, no, the motor does not kill the handling of the car. The car handles like a dream. What's stopping me now is traction. I'm used to underpowered FWD cars, and now my autox runs are either bad, where I don't get on the throttle enough because I'm worried about swinging the back around, or worse, where I get on the throttle too much and spin the car around.
Right now, I've got the stock 225/50R16s on the car, which given the 4.10 final drive, means virtually no traction while turning. The videos there are all from the first few days of me driving it, and I got better at the autox, but I primarily need more traction, and a lot more practice.
In terms of handling at higher speeds, it's ungodly. I have never felt any cars corner as hard as this one, and this is with the RT615s in 225mm, on konis. I expect once I get wider wheels and tires for it to be even better.
As for drag times, I'm paranoid about the rear end. Once I get the funds, I'm going to consider upgrading the diff to the Cobra IRS unit (there's a conversion subframe for it). I don't really have any idea how fast it is, because I haven't found a faster car than it yet, although I'm not really looking.
The car will be on a road track before the summer is out. I have a few more things I need to do (bleed brakes, install bushings, install oil temp gauge, etc.) before, but once it's all done I'll have a real idea how it feels at speed, as my current high-speed handling experience has been going way too fast on country roads.
