I want to see one with a 2.8L KB or a 3.3L Whipple with good pistons & rods.

10's will be easy with minimal mods. Terminators ran mid 11's with bolt ons
generally speaking. I'm thinking we'll see high 10's with bolt ons out of
the GT500's.

Umm, whoever shot that vid is a ******* tard. Try following the car. LOL. Nice run though. I hope we see more and more GT500s breaking the "too big, too heavy, too slow" stigma. Too many jealous F-Body fanboys talking **** when their 5th Gen is still 2-3 years out.

F-body fan boys??? Better make that Terminator fan boys as well. Check out Svtperformance and see what the 03-04 Cobra guys are saying. I have not heard any f-body guys say anything bad about the GT500. If anyone its the Termie guys shitting on it all disgruntled.

^^^

Seriously I hang out alot with a great bunch of guys in a Mustang club and they pretty much all don't really care for it.

Good runs though with that trap speed i'd think it should be doing 10's. It is hitting 1.6 60 foots so maybe some more suspension work and it's there.

I am FAR more impressed by that dodge in the lane next to it that ran a 12-second run. Getting a 6000+lb truck to run with Corvettes isn't anything to sneeze at. GT500 was ok, but it struck me as a kind of "Lexus Fast" kind of car. You know, where the car is VERY capable, but no one can tell by the way it's moving or sounding, including the driver. That Shelby isn't a muscle car....just really powerful.

Nobody seems to want to give this car any credit. Most of the terminater guys even hate it. I personally like it, I just think a lot of people are jealous of it. So what if people are paying a good chunk of money for them, if thats the car they really want then let them enjoy it. Going 11.0 at 128mph with boltons and a 4,000lb car is just downright insane.

If people wanna burn $50K+ on a Mustang, that's their problem: I could care less. I hate it because it's overweight and I think it's butt-ugly. Jealous? Far from it.

I like the way it looks i just have no clue why the made teh car so damn heavy? Also i think the need to get the advertised 500 hp a little help inthe real world. If it made power closer to teh 500 it claims it would be a rocket. GL guys

I personally like the way the GT500 looks. I wouldn't pay sticker for it, maybe a used one years from now though. Then I'd make it a shell on wheels basically.

There are some appearance things that I dislike, but I could quickly
get over that by modifiying it to my liking. I just can't get over the weight.
It's inexcusable IMO. I do love the blown 5.4 though. It has some serious
potential. Great tranny too.

I'll say it, I don't care how fast it is i still think it's ugly and they need to fix the "weeping headlights" IMHO.
This Retro look BS died with the Prowler and the PT Cruiser, it's just got retarded since then.
A land-yacht 4 door Charger (which u know it is when u see more 20"+ rims on it than performance parts), a weeping mustang that reminds me of the Air-Conditioner from The Brave Little Toaster, The Dodge Challenger "Concept" and the new Camaro look like the same car from the doors back (minus suttle differences of course) hell even the wheels look the same, just with different front fascias. And many more "hip new and innovative" ideas.
So, i'm on no ones side lol i'll take an '03/'04 Cobra or a WS6 or an SS anyday in no particular order at all. And if i'm going to pay a lot for a car out-right, THEN mod it compared to getting a cheap-"er" vehicle, it'd be an 04' Z06 with a new KB system on it, or a New Z06 with a handful of mods.
Not Trolling, just giving my $0.02 since most won't do it 'till backed into a corner.
But everyone has their opinions. And besides...what do i know i have a v-6.

And once again, these are just MY personal opinions. I'm not flying a plane into buildings with a towel on my head. Calm down.
