can't get over the weight problem.

I still say the 03-04 cobras look a ton better than the new ones and Im not to impressed with the numbers they have produced at the track becouse of the weight issues . I wish they would have taken a little more wight out of it for performance . all in all it is still a nice looking and performing car

The car stickers for $43K, not 50. No one can control dealer mark up.

It looks to me like you have about $10K into your turbo car and you're
nowhere near 10's yet based on the numbers in your sig.

Is it too much to ask for a friggin list of mods on this car? Pretty lame to post vids and times and ****, but not HOW it got to that level. This is a technical site, post some technical stuff!

ehh its got a ported blower, and bolt-on's and ran a 10.9. you can do the exact same thing with an 03 cobra for probably half the money.

I believe it's recently gone 10.46 at 133 at basically the same level of modification:

http://www.evoperform.com/GT500/track2.wmv

Stock Longblock
Stock Headers
Mildly Ported Eaton
2.6 upper (13psi)
Off Road Xpipe
Custom Cat Back
JLT
Weight Reduction (but added a cage, so its basicly stock curb weight)
Big N' Littles
Gears
Tune

An 03-04 Cobra would need a twin-screw and AT LEAST 21 psi to accomplish the same thing at stock weight.

yeah i spotted the 10.4 thread after i posted this so i ate my own words lol. you are right it does take a twin screw OR spray on top of the eaton to run a 10.4 with the 03-04's. if u have a kb or a whipple u don't need at least 21psi to run 10.4. i've watched a guy at 19psi run 10.23 in a full weight 03 with a cage. no weight reduction, just a live axle swap 3.73's (i'm sure a built bottom end) and a 2.2 kb with slicks.

How do we know the raceweight is still heavy? Any pics of the interior or under the hood?

The car also has our full BMR 05 suspension line on it I'm sure there is more in it judging by the mph....

i'm sure yall got a lot left in it. i definately ate my words when i saw the vid for the 10.4 run. the mph is awesome considering the minimal amount of work you guys have in the car. just curious how much boost are yall running? and do you plan to do a pulley swap to make more and lower the et's anytime soon?

IMO, the guy was BS'ing about the 19 psi unless the built shortblock included:
a) more displacement
b) more compression
c) cams
d) N20
e) a combo of the above

Lots of Cobra owners like to say they are pullied for say 17 psi when they're actually making 20+ psi. My Whipple pulley combo is "supposed" to net me 18 psi, but I see close to 20 psi routinely (21 in cold air).

i've heard of more then a few cobra's doing that. a guy here has a built whipple cobra and said a combo he had hit 20psi and they were a lil stunned. i'm still very much learning the world of modded forced induction cars.

Lame. You can't buy a GT500 for sticker, so the sticker price factored as car price in arguement does not hold water. If anything, the $50K assertion was a best case scenario. What's next? Factoring price of car as dealers cost, or manufacturers cost to build. Point is, you cannot buy a GT500 for sticker.

Nineball - they've been very vague with the mods list. However, they listed some time ago "weight reduction" IN ADDITION to lightweight drag brakes, and ultra lightweight Bogarts. That's an easy 100lbs in brakes and tires.

I've said it before: I watched this thing on DR's run ETs tenths slower than untouched LS1 cars at the same track (Cecil) - stock for stock. I loosely consider it as no more than a 5.4 n/a Mustang GT - the weight negates most of the blowers benefits.

BTW - My car runs nearly identical times for a total investment, including car, of less than $9K

Ricers complain about $$$. We just get it done.

Congrats! Now let's see some pics of that $9K beauty. I'm sure
it's show car quality. Be sure to post pics of the odometer as well.

I'm still waiting on engine bay pics. I guess I'll keep posting that question
on every single board they ***** out their car on. I'm wondering if they
are trying to advance the industry, which generally includes sharing
information such as a mod list, or are they just trying to make a buck.
I'm thinking the latter of the two.
