C6 Z06 vs. Ford GT
There are people that test supercars at 180+ all the time, I mean here in America its rare we do that ,but you see bikes hit 160+ all the damn time
so maybe you dont give a crap about 160+ but some people do. People build cars for different reasons. Im glad yours is for the quarter mile trapping around 120, while some people like to street race going 160+. And when it comes to speeds of that AERODYNAMICS is really what you start paying for in the GT
. That is clearly easy to spot in the 140+ range when you compare the two cars
Hell I'd much rather buy two Z06's and a new Shelby cobra for the price of a GT LOL
A geo metro isn't a good base to start with. Which completely removes it from my point....which was that the Z06 is a great performer for it's price. As i said, super-car performance without the super-car price. And because of that it's more of a rational and reasonable vehicle to buy, because (once again....) of it's bang for the buck factor.
You put heads, cam, etc. on a Z06 and you have a beast on your hands.
You do that with a metro, and you're dealing with a Displeased Mosquito, instead of normal one. See my point?
Also, at the end of the day you have a Z06....not a geo metro...lol
I never said top-end performance isn't important, or that it wasn't my interest. I just stated that MOST people who buy those types of cars never even get near those speeds. Because it's just not rational, i guarantee 90% of them will never see a track, much-less a track where speeds of that caliber are capable on it. They'll be taken out for a calm Sunday drive with clear skies and then snugly tucked back into their covers in the garage before nightfall.
And another thing, bikes do it all the time because it takes them little time to get there and then slow down due to their weight, unlike most cars.
I'll say it again, if you want all the extra bells and whistles and have the extra money to throw down and you just have to have certain things then by all means, buy the GT.
But, for the average person who's looking for 'cheap' high-performance and a good platform to mod later on, the Z06 is it.
You can go to the GT website and its right there. Either way im not arguing that the GT is a nicer car, im just saying that the GT edges the Z06 in performance.
