the stupid thing is that fords fix for it is a reprogram that will kill the power to engine if your EGT's get to high and make you pull off to the side of the road for awhile untill everything cools off. Way to go Ford

You know they can't legally put that on cars meant for driving on public streets. Imagine pullin up to a stop light next to some stupid redneck & he flips that on & revs at you, there goes your paint. Thats too much of a safety hazard to be a factory option.

Yeup, that fix, if legit, is absolutely rediculous. I sure hope the owners of those trucks get their money back or trade that **** it for equal value. Its not a squeeky bushing or CTS-V rearend, its flames out your pipes.

why not just fix the damm thing and be honest about it an say you fucked up?! "oh, my bad!! what can you expect, we're ford "

I think the injectors on teh diesles handle something like 100,000 line PSI or something so im sure they are retardedly expensive to replace. That and teh 100 bux and hour they have to pay to ahve it fixed lol. Definatly funny.

The Duramax trucks run off about 23,500 PSI and run right around $1,000 each for the 05 and newer injectors. We replaced some on a truck a few months ago....good thing the injectors on the Duramax's are now covered to 200k miles.

I run a repair shop that has a regular customer that had a 6.0 PS well under warrenty every injector was replaced, then after warrenty was up 1800 for 2 injectors and 3 months later a couple more wnet bad and this time they put 6 in. 4000 grand. 1 month later apart again another bad one and a pinched harness. I talk with my guy at ford they will replace one or 2 but recomend the customer replace all 8 at same time... LOL

I did a coolant hose under the turbo and some high pressure oil sensor and pigtail and will never touch an engine in these things again!!!! I have enough work to have to worry about working on this thing.

That is fuel knock from a stuck injector and it's loadin the cats down with raw diesel. For any of you who have heard the new 6.4 it is a very quiet engine. There very well may be a pcm flash to correct some issues but that engine has more problems than a reflash will fix. The day's of buyin a diesel and forgetting about it like you could the old 6.9's and 7.3's are gone. The computers got way more power out of them but they are just to damm finicky, hard to work on and expensive to fix. It's cheaper to take a screwin on one tradin it in than fixing it. I'll stick to gas engines.
