Is that popping or riding the clutch and what clutch is that? I hold my rpm at about 4000 and about a second before I launch, I floor it and pop the Textralia. Seems to work pretty good...not too consistent but it's worked since I tried it. Your launch sounded similar.

im using a Lngenfelter clutch. race weight is 3260 w/ me in the car.
yeah the GTO trans has lmost the sam exact gearing as the z06, only thing hats different is the 5th an 6th gear,but who cares about that.
