Thinking about buying a Mustang? Watch this first!

A buddy of mine bought a 1999 Mustang GT convertible. He had never run at the track before so I rode along with my camera. You can hear me walk him though the steps and then the launch. I record the first 100 ft or so and panned to check out the crowd going by. Then I panned left to get the gauges and when I looked up...Well, just check it out for yourselves!!!

Most let you if you run 14.0 or slower.....

I remember going to the track in my 2000 camaro v6 (rk sport ram air, and cat back exhaust) back in the day and beating the 94 - 98 mustang gts.

the track that i go to doesnt let anyone at all. dont know if they have in the past but ive seen a few people try and they catch them everytime

Funny, but that happens all the time these days. LS1's, vipers, etc. No one is safe from Honda humiliation. :chug:

Yeah they can.. Anything can happen out there, hell my car isn't anything special and I'm 4-1 from a roll to TX's fastest N/A C5. Is my car faster? HELLL NO, but with the right situation in play.. Nothing is impossible.

What'd he end up running? That civic was probably a GSR swap.

You're right. Anything can happen except it was a clean pass for the Stang. The car hooked up, shifted properly.

The Civic hit a 14.5 and I think my buddy hit a 14.9 on that pass. He hit a best of a 14.7 so even at best he still would've lost.

people think cause its a mustange its fast... those 4.6 gt's arent anything to write home about... they are known for stock high 14's even 15's if driver sucks.... and yes some civics are really fast... but those are usually turbo... that one was n/a.... they dont get much faster tan low 14's with out a turbo... what is done to taht mustange...? iv seen a 97 gt with gears (no posi) full exhaust and cold air kit hit 3 14.7 runs with perfect shifts in the same night.... that engine just isnt a contender without some help behind it...
