Z28 Wreck Aftermath Unfortunately, I don't have a "before" picture of the car but this is what it looked like after he was hit head on by a drunk driving chick in a Galant. She was eastbound on the expressway and we were westbound. She lost control, completely jumped the guardrail and hit my buddy head on. I was driving right behind him and almost wound up in the accident myself.
The passenger in the Mitsubishi was airlifted. My buddy, the driver was very lucky to be able to practically walk away. His passenger suffered multiple facial fractures. The car was a 1992 Z28 with a 383 stroker and nitrous. He had just installed brand new speakers and an amp. He had installed custom leather seats with the Anniversary Z28 embroidered on the headrests.
The first video was recorded at the scene.
The 2nd was at his house. It's a miracle no one was killed!

We still don't understand how the driver didn't get hurt. He doesn't remember a thing from the accident. If you watch the 2nd video where I was taping from the passenger side, you can see the steering wheel sitting on the passenger seat. It broke off yet he had no injuries to his head or chest. Amazing!
The female driver was ordered to pay in payments for doctor bills and for the car. She was charged with 6 counts of aggrevated assult. There was a Chevy truck with 3 passengers that was also involved but their damage was minimal.
She also had to serve 90 days in jail but since the judge didn't want her to lose her job because she had to pay my buddy back, she actually had to serve the 90 days on weekends. She would turn herself in on Friday nights and would get out on Sunday afternoons until she served her sentence. Crazy!
