Which spring did you use 144832 or 144833 and did you use the 144460-16 springs seats and the retainers that go with them (144661-16 titanium, 144944-16 steel)? What broke, inner or outer spring? I assume that these springs were on the intakes because of the higher lift on the intake lobe. What was your installed height (from the outside bottom of the retainer where the outer spring rests to the top of the spring seat)? We would like to know this info and would be interested in seeing the broken springs. We have not experienced this type of failure on our spintron or in other testing we have done. We still have test vehicles on the road that have high lift applications in the .640s Thanks, Joe

I am not trying to bash crane cam's or anything. My other cam was a F-11, and i am unsure of which springs it had. it had the steel retainers with hardened seats, and i checked install height, and if i remember right it was like 1.799. I am thinking someone had the springs that were NOT good to 650 lift, but where still dual springs? and i only broke 2 intake springs, and the others were the exhaust... weird. i saved the springs and i was going to talk to someone at crane, and see if they wanted to take a look at them. The inner springs are the ones that seemed to have been broke. they had like 7k miles on them with the F-11, and i couldn't get them off on car for nothing, and when i did the MS4 i didnt want to pull the heads, so i left them on. I guess i am in the wrong but it happens.

If you guys are wanting to take a look at them, hit me up with a PM.

thanks, and sorry if it seems like i am bashing Crane cams, cuz i didn't mean anything by it.

I didn't think you were bashing Crane. It's just we take performance and our products very seriously. If someone has an issue, we like to get to the bottom of the issue. We do a lot of testing, and if there is a problem, we want to know all the information so that we can figure out what happened. At Crane we strive to provide our customers with the best technology and the best products. I will pm you with some info, because we would like to look at the broken springs. Thanks, Joe.

Very nice sound to it. Did you have to fly cut your pistons due to the high lift?

The PRC Dual Gold's are the only spring that will work for the ms4 right?

I have the ms4 on the way, have a set of PRC stage 3 heads, hoping to make some serious ponies.

Clean car bro.
