Cold start 224 cam startup, 98 TA

I did my H/C swap over 2 months ago & have daily drove mine over 300 miles a week since it was installed & still haven't strapped it to the dyno to get tuned. Car runs perfectly fine even with the A/C on.
Haven't had a single issue & have even smashed out a couple vettes during this time too. The 224 cam is great for this. If your a auto it'll need a tune to drive right but us 6-speed guys have it easy. This is part of the reason the 224 cams were so popular when the LS1 first hit the streets. You can run this cam on stock tune & be fine. Granted your leaving power on the table, but it won't hurt it.
I'm running milled 5.3 heads & my compression is at 10.9-11.0:1 on pump gas. I wouldn't worry about it. Just get it tuned when you get the money & time. Hell I even get exactly the same gas mileage if not a couple miles better since my swap.
